Chase ripped open the final door and blasted into the room, running up to the main computer system just under the speed of sound.

 

He pulled out the USB containing his Ripper Code and slammed it into the available port as quickly as he could afford. You would not believe how hard it was to find this place.

 

The screen in front of him lit up like a candlestick, and just at that moment, Chase heard the charging of weapons. Once more the world froze as he turned around, a D-1 stood in the doorway aiming its gun hand at him.

 

These were different than the ones at the hospital, for one thing, they didn’t fire bullets, they fired lasers (Something that he wasn’t faster than), and they were made from Zenith-Steel (Something he couldn’t cut through easily). And Chase knew that if it started firing, the computer would fry.

 

So instantly he ran up, grabbed its gun and pointed it upward just at the moment that it fired. The lasers hit the ceiling causing a small fire to start.

 

Crap

 

He pushed it into the hallway and aimed its gun at the other approaching Bots, but what are lasers going to do against Zenith-Steel? So giving up on this tactic Chase drew his claws and broke through the glass face of the droid ripping out its “eyes” (Though it no doubt had some sort of backup systems) but the dang thing wouldn’t stop firing its gun!

 

“Whatever!” He exclaimed angrily, then in a lightning-fast move, he used the D-1 as a projectile toward the incoming Bots, giving him maybe a couple of seconds.

 

He looked back at the screen, he’d say that he had maybe like… two minutes left.

 

Right! He could do two minutes! What could possibly go wrong in two minutes?!

Max hit the wall hard, blood was dripping down his face

 

CRACK!!

 

A bolt of electricity shot through the air, but the figure in the black suit got out of the way just in time and threw Michael to the wall, actually more accurately, through it.

 

Max couldn’t believe this had happened, he had been followed, and now these guys were going to pay the price

 

“AAAAGGGGHHH!!!” Steven screamed as he was hit with the shockwave Mario had intended for Isaac, Max was pretty sure that he broke a couple of bones

 

He knew what he had to do, he had no choice, these people were going to die if he didn’t

 

“Dang it” He whispered. Sorely he reached into his pocket

 

Another bolt of lightning, but this time it hit Isaac square in the chest, throwing him into the wall. But he only laughed at the pain, the entire time he just kept laughing, like something was so funny and nobody else could get it. Steven got up and threw something that he had generated from his hand, it was like a green energy baseball, he threw it straight toward Isaac, who too easily dodged it. Too bad, because the second it hit the wall it blew a huge hole in it. Max would’ve loved to see that happen to 'human ladder.'

 

But instead Isaac sprang up and threw Steven through said hole, then grabbed Mario and used him as a human shield for the next bolt that came through the other hole in the wall, and it was obvious by Mario’s screams how much it hurt.

 

Which only made the figure laugh all the harder

 

Max’s eye’s narrowed, and he pressed the button.

Chase’s head snapped around to the beeping that was coming from his backpack, then he turned to the screen.

 

He still had a minute to go!

 

“Oh come on!!” He yelled as he kicked the robot in front of him through the wall,

 

“I know you don’t want to but you have to grab your code and go NOW!” Shadow yelled as he just barely phased through a whole bunch of laser fired directly at his chest

 

“Can’t he just wait one minute!?” Chase yelled back

 

“GO NOW!!” Shadow demanded

 

The room got darker,

 

A voice came from seemingly everywhere, it said one word

 

“CHOOSE!!” It laughed

 

Chase’s fist tightened as he reviewed all the options he had

 

“You’ve got to be kidding me”

 

BOOM!!!!

 

This was quite possibly one of the loudest sonic booms he had ever created as he ripped his USB out of the computer, shattering the screen, and took off toward the source of the distress signal.

 

And little did he know, that his shadow was starting to flicker

Isaac threw the last of the unconscious three to the ground, already feeling his wounds finish healing.

 

“You’d think for someone with electric powers he’d be a little harder to take down” Isaac mocked as he looked at Max, the spot where he had thrown him into the wall still dented in.

 

“Oh shut up I didn’t hurt you too bad” Isaac groaned exasperatedly at the way Max was looking so hurt “I didn’t even break any bones”

 

“You’re with Tech right?” Max breathed feeling in the pain in his chest

 

But Isaac ignored the question as he made his way closer to Max

 

“Stop right there Max said holding up his hand in snapping position, but Isaac didn’t stop.

 

“Here’s the deal” Max continued “You’re going to run off, or I’m going to snap my fingers and blow us both to smithereens!”

 

Isaac walked right up to max and stopped

 

“Again?” He laughed

 

“Don’t test me” Max warned

 

“Wouldn’t dream of it” Isaac taunted “Go ahead”

 

Max felt his heart sink

 

“What are you waiting for? Kill me just like you killed your grandmother”

 

“Shut up!” Max yelled holding his fingers up higher

 

“Do it” Isaac challenged

 

Max stared directly into the black eyes of his mask

 

 And he snapped

 

… Nothing

 

“Wow, I’m blown away” Isaac yawned enjoying the look on Max’s face “Now I do believe you have som-

 

BOOM!!!!

 

The room exploded in a deafening sound as Chase crashed through yet another wall and slammed Isaac through two more

 

“You idiot!! What the heck are you doing here?!” Chase yelled infuriated while helping Max up “I said the Safe House in Amarillo! Does this look like Amarillo?!?!

 

“There were some things I had to take care of first I’m sorry!!” Max screamed back, just at the moment Isaac pounced through the wall and toward Chase

 

“You Idiot!” Chase fired yelled again, throwing Isaac through the door “Do you have any idea what you did?!”

 

“You wouldn-“ Max started

 

“We got to go!” Chase yelled scooping Max up much to his irritation and taking off

 

They rushed down the highway almost at an instant 300 MPH speed, each step was agony on Max who was pretty sure Chase was still yelling, he just couldn’t hear him over the rush of wind.
