The two stared at the canyon. Chase didn’t know what he expected, but it was nothing compared to this. 

Instantly there were two things that stood out at him

One: Aside from the building they just exited from, there seemed to be a surprising lack of civilization

And Two…

Chase looked up, into the night sky

What? How could there be a sky?!

But there it was. Chase could feel the breeze coming from the open ceiling of the cave, he could see the stars twinkling, it wasn’t a hologram, it was actually the night sky. But how is that possible?? They were over twenty Miles underground!

But again, there it was.

“Huh” He let out “Hang on one sec”

“What did you-NO WAIT!!”

Without thinking twice Chase jumped, rocketing up toward the sky. He hit the wall, immediately gripping the canyon side with his claws, and jumped again. And with one last jump, he rocketed toward the sky, 

“Stop You Moron!!”  Max yelled angrily, and with a grunt of effort he gravikinetically grabbed him by the ankle and yanked him back down hard, just as he started to exit the canyon.

“OOF!!” Chase grunted as he was slammed into the ground beside Max with way too much force.

He felt the bruises on his body immediately heal as he stood up

“Are you crazy?!” Max fumed, “Only a Paradox can enter back through that portal, if I hadn’t caught you, you would’ve gone out and then fallen to your death”

“Sorry, I was just investigating” Chase grunted, shaking his head

Max shook his head, “Ok, from now on, if you want to know something… Please, just ask”

“Right… Speaking of which, what now?” Chase inquired “We don’t have much time until Tech gets here”

“You ready to go?” Max asked

“Are you kidding?” Chase said “Let’s go explore, and ultimately save a secret civilization of Powered Individuals”

Max rolled his eyes “It’s not going to be easy, I’m not exactly supposed to be here”

“Then let’s hurry”
