Tennessee 12:11 PM
Chase’s heart beat faster, the knot in his throat growing bigger by the second. He just couldn’t believe he was actually back at this horrible, horrible place.
He stood in front of his childhood home
It was out in the middle of nowhere, (Tech had a thing for that) surrounded by forest and trees. It even had a pond out back that Chase used to swim in
But everything had changed that one, stupid, wicked, terrible night
CLARISSA!!/ Get him out of here!!!/ There was blood on his hands/ now we’re even
He shook his head, he couldn’t think about that right now
He had a job to do
Cautiously he opened the front door (it was unlocked) and stepped inside
He instantly felt the wind knocked out of him, this is where it had happened
He saw his Younger self, banging on his parents’ bedroom door
“Dad what are you doing!??” he yelled through his tears, which were now streaming down his young face
He banged on the door as hard as he could, but he was still too drained
BANG! BANG! BANG!
“DAD PLEASE!!! LET ME IN!!!” He pleaded and cried as he continued banging, his mom was hurt and he needed to be in there with her
But he couldn’t break through
“Dad PLEEEEEEEAAAAAASSSSSSEEEEE!!!!!!” He cried desperation in his voice
Chase closed his eyes, trying to block out the memories of that night
DO IT!!/ IT WAS INSIDE HIS HEAD, INSIDE HIM!!!!/ He drew his blade, fear in her eyes
“SHUT UP!!!” He shouted, gripping his head as he regained control
A tear appeared in his eye, but he quickly ignored it
With trembling hands, he reached in, and pushed the button on the underside of the fireplace wall, hearing the whirr of the machinery, as the fireplace started to move
It spun around, to reveal an elevator, which Chase begrudgingly stepped inside, and held his breath the whole way down
It took him down to a small, hallway which led into a much bigger room, filled with more interconnecting hallways that branched out from there and various rooms
Chase breathed hard, his palms becoming sweaty as he stepped out of the elevator
The lights immediately turned on, illuminating the space, and the D-1’s powered up
Chase jumped back in surprise as the first one fired its lasers, everything suddenly seemed to be going in slow motion
He drew his claws
But as he ran through the room, avoiding every shot that he could, and healing the ones that he couldn’t, he quickly found out that they weren’t like the ones in Dragons Canyon, they were made with Zenith-Steel
“Clarissa speak to me please!!”
Chase swiped at one, and then another, flipping and dodging through the air, before finally landing on the other side, and blasting off down the hallway, his claws tearing up the floor with each step
“It’s ok, I love you.”
But down every hallway, there was more D-1’s
“Get him out of here!!”
“RAA!!” Chase yelled, taking out as many as he could while rebounding off the roof and walls, but there were too many of them
With burn marks sealing up, he kicked one into the wall and started to run again, taking random twists and turns
He was having trouble concentrating,
HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAAA!!!!/ MOM!!!!
He shook his head
He had to stay focused
Tech had designed this whole place like a maze, it was a training for Chase, to help with his memory, it was his job to memorize where everything was, but he just couldn’t concentrate right now!
Another hallway, another batch of robots, all already shooting energy in every direction,
But he wasn’t giving up! He would win! He was going to save them!
With a roar of determination, his body vibrated as they all stood frozen, and he took off, straight up ramming the first through the wall, pushing through all the rest
The lasers were cutting through him, but he pushed through the pain, slashing into the crowd when he could, but overall, he just kept going
BOOM!!!
As he made one last take off, he blasted through the bots, and onto the other side
But then his heart dropped
He had reached a dead end. Mazes have dead ends
“NO!” He yelled punching the wall
The robots started to get up behind him, and he turned around to face them, with fury in his eyes
But it wasn’t a robot
Is Chase all right?/ THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!!!/ I’m going to hurt you so badly, you’ll beg for death
Tech stood in front of the D-1’s, holding one of the lightning guns
Before Chase could react, he pulled the trigger,
CRACK!!!!!
“AAGGHH!!” Chase yelled hitting the wall behind him
He saw Tech walk up to him, his image flickering
His face showed absolute seriousness, and sadness at the same time
“Hello son”
“Don’t-Huh!” He coughed “Don’t…call me that”
Tech looked at his son
“I did try to warn you,” He said
“And I didn’t listen,” Chase said, standing himself up against the wall
“Prove him wrong”
“And I’m going to prove you wrong”
Tech stepped back, we’ll see
The robots behind him stepped forward, and his hologram flickered out, revealing the D-1
underneath
They all opened fire, each once burning its laser into Chase. His suit protected him to a degree, but
“RRGGHHH!!!” He grunted, feeling the pain, but he refused to yell
“Hero’s try!”
More lasers, more pain
“Hero’s FAIL!”
So much pain!
“But Hero’s NEVER FALL!!”
BOOM!!!
Chase lunged forward as his wounds healed, his claws impaling the D-1 in front
This place was full of dead ends, and Chase had always thought that that was just because of the maze aspect of it… But suddenly he knew
“RAAA!!” He yelled, plunging his other clawed hand into the hole he had created in the D-1’s chest
And with all the strength he had, he ripped it apart!!
Instantly causing it to explode, but it didn’t explode in flames like Chase had thought it would,
Oh no
The poison, it had been filled with POISON!
Chase stumbled back as the poison seeped in through his wounds, (Fortunately the D-1’s had stopped firing due to the explosion) he felt the burn, like acid going into his veins, and his wounds didn’t heal
How could he be so stupid!
But he wouldn’t let this be it!
With the poison starting to pump through his blood, Chase knew that he had to do this now
He lunged toward the end of the dead end, and with fire in his blood, he broke through the floor, and tore it open in one last burst of strength, letting himself fall down into the dark elevator shaft below
