Greenland 5:28 PM
Of course it was here. Of course, that in all the places, this was where Tech was hiding.
“Of course” he repeated, his voice seething with anger.
Chase stood in the cold snow, looking at the building in front of him. The building that only around five months ago, he had seen Tech kill a man. The building that had been his home for a little under two years. That was where Tech was hiding. And he didn’t know what he would do once he found him.
In a burst of speed the vibrating figure cut and broke through the wall, and got inside. It was much darker now, like it wasn’t being used for too much anymore. It looked deserted.
Quickly he made his way through the halls heading for the area he knew Tech would be waiting, but something flew by that caught his eye. Slowly he looked into his old work station, but the robot he was looking for was gone.
“Don’t have time right now!” he snapped at himself. He was extremely angry. His father deserved to pay, and he was going to make sure he did.
Silently, but extremely quickly he made his way through every part of the place except for one warehouse. It was one of the biggest rooms in the building, mostly in length. When you first walk in you see the other wall, and if you turn left, there is a huge long area made for storing very big things. And as soon as Chase walked in he knew that this was it, because in the middle of the back wall that you see when you first walk in, was one, giant screen, plugged up to a bunch of computers. And sure enough, Tech stood in front of that screen.
“Hello Son.”
“Hello Tech” Chase said walking in, taking a look down the dark abyss that was the warehouse.
“Took you long enough” Tech laughed
“Who the heck do you think you are!” he yelled as he stepped toward him “Do you have any idea how many people have died in the past week because of you!”
“You could’ve come here and put a stop to it the very first time the signal went out, I practically laid the opportunity at your feet!” Tech argued
“I am so sick of this!” Chase yelled causing the entire room to explode in a sonic blast as Chase rocketed himself off the floor, flying through the air heading toward his father, claws out.
But that’s when two things happened one after the other, one, Chase heard a roar from the darkness, and two…
“AARRGG!!” he yelled as he hit the side of the warehouse with a blackened burn in his side.
Angrily he looked up at his attacker, only to see two giant red glowing mechanical eyes burning through the darkness of the warehouse.
He got up, and immediately heard another shot start to charge up. The heat from the weapon illuminating it’s tentacles as they prepared for battle. With eye’s burning he looked at Tech.
“A little precaution that I took to keep the conversation civilized” he smiled
“I am going to make you pay for all that you’ve done” Chase growled
“Hey it’s not like I wanted to do that stuff, you’re the one that made me the villain” Tech chuckled “The big bad villain with his elaborate schemes and evil plans to do nothing but destroy. That’s what you wanted me to be isn’t it?”
“That’s what this has been about!” Chase yelled
“I warned you when we last saw each other, to stop playing the hero. You could’ve already stopped me by now, if you hadn’t gone to play good guy. I mean when did you grow a heart? Because I know for a fact that I did not raise you to let yourself be ruled by your emotions.” He pried
“No you tried to raise me to be cold and calculated, like you, with no shred of human decency inside of him.” Chase growled
“Well” Tech shrugged “You can’t escape who you are”
“I’M NOT LIKE YOU!!” he yelled lunging
Mistake
With a flash of red light Chase was blasted to the wall with another scolding laser to the side.
“AAAAGGHHH!!”
Chase looked up, he heard a growl. Like something prehistoric had been equipped with lasers. Then he looked at Tech, his eyes still full of defiance… and hate.
Slowly he got up, and looked at the screen. It was pretty obvious that Tech was scanning for something. Tech followed his gaze.
“OH! I bet your wondering about what the point of that signal was! Right?” there was a gleam in his eye
Chase said nothing
“Well since you’re too stupid to figure it out, I suppose I could tell you my evil plan” he laughed
“It doesn’t do anything” Chase shot back
“Please Chase, no move I make has zero purpose. You would know that if you would think ahead and plan your moves”
“This isn’t a ga-“ Chase started
“Ap-ap-ap!! Shut up and let me speak” he said, obviously talking down to him.
He looked Chase directly in the eye, and begun.
“You see before you ‘dismantled’ the Infiltration project, there was this one girl, about thirteen or so, Alyssa Espericueta or something like that, who I started working on.
“Torturing” Chase cut in, but Tech ignored him
“But the trouble started when I gave her, her first injection of concentrated Z-12”
“What do you mean?” Chase pried, his interest starting to perk.
“Well, I made sure to only administer only enough Z-12 to her system to slightly enhance her senses, and maybe agility, I mean she still had three more injections to go, but instead… it had a different effect.” He paused enjoying the new look in Chase’s eyes.
“She developed a whole different set of abilities. From that little injection.”
“What?” Chase questioned surprised “That’s not possible, how much did you give her?”
“Three milliliters” Tech smiled
“That’s not possible” Chase argued “That little of an injection won’t do anything but, well, enhance you a little”
“That’s what I said” Tech laughed getting excited as he got into the story “and I double checked the amount I gave her, and triple checked. I checked everything a second time, and nothing was out of the ordinary, but the fact remained the same, she had a whole set of abilities that I didn’t give her.”
“What about any previous exposure to Z-12?” Chase asked trying to think of a possible explanation
“I checked the sample of her D.N.A. before exposure five times, and do you know what I found?” Tech asked awaiting a response
“What?” Chase responded
“Nothing.” Tech said “There was absolutely nothing about her D.N.A. at all! That would explain why this happened. It was unexplainable, she was…” Tech paused, searching for the right word. “A paradox. She should not have existed, and yet she did.”
For a second Chase said nothing, taking in what he had just heard.
“So how does this tie into the signal?” he pried still slightly angry, but curiosity was starting to take over.
“AH I was hoping you were going to ask.” Tech beamed.
“Well, you see I had just about given up on it. But then I did one last test.”
“You wanted to see how the blood samples responded to sonic frequencies” said finally understanding
Tech smiled, “There may still be some hope for you yet.”
Chase growled, and Tech continued.
“That’s right, and I found out that her blood responded to sonic frequencies differently than any normal persons, or even yours. In fact, it was so sensitive, that you could still measure it even when the frequency was so insanely high, that no human or animal would even know it’s there. But still it resonated with a very traceable resonance.”
“So you figured you’d broadcast that same insanely high frequency all over the world in an attempt to find someone similar” Chase finished
“Exactly!” Tech exclaimed “I mean, I had no other way of finding them.”
“And what have you found?” Chase questioned almost afraid to ask.
Tech turned toward the screen, causing Chase to do the same. On it, where at three little blips, spread out throughout the world.
“Each blip is a person” Tech explained
“Just three?” Chase asked
“Apparently these guys are super rare, but the real test of who they are, is still yet to come.”
Chase’s head snapped around to his father
“What do you mean?” asked, but he already knew. Tech turned to him, and smiled, a very smug smile
He was going to expose them to Z-12
“Are you CRAZY!” he yelled, instinctively drawing his claws “You have no idea what that could do to them!!”
Tech shrugged “It’s a bit of a risk, but that’s what makes the game interesting, those little points where anything could happen!”
“You’re insane!” Chase retorted, already digging his feet into the ground in preparation for takeoff
“You can’t stop it” Tech said calmly “It’s already happening”
Chase’s eyes widened
“You see those little dots on the screen?” Tech asked again turning his attention to the screen, “Well, hopefully any second now, I’ll get an alert that one of them-“
BEEEEEPPPP!!!!!!!! BEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP!!!!! BEEEEEPPPP!!!!!!!! BEEEEEEEEPPPPPPP!!!!!
The entire warehouse lit up in red, and the screen went berserk, as it zoomed in one of the dots.
It had worked
For a moment time stood still, as Tech and Chase locked eyes, as the lights flashed overhead to warn of this new development. Slowly Tech looked at the screen, it had worked! But Chase saw the screen too.
BOOM!!!
Chase rocket off as fast as he possibly could giving a brief glance to the screen, to know where he was going.
“Ugh!” Tech grunted as he was thrown into the wall by the sheer force of Chase taking off, but he wasted no time acting.
Lighting fast he grabbed the phone from his pocket and hit a button
“CONTAIN THE ASSET!!!!” he yelled as urgently as he knew how “AND GET IT OUT OF THERE NOW!! You’ve got three minutes tops!”
--------------------------------------
Chase blasted off across the earth, his body vibrating with power, and gaining speed with each step, but was he fast enough!?
BOOM!
One more burst of speed, he was headed to Arkansas.

--------------------------------------
Max screamed on the hospital bed, he could do nothing else, but lay there, and scream in pain. He was 13 feet below the hospital, and he was surrounded by the same mean looking men that took him into the room. This was worse than anything he had ever felt before, the “headaches” where nothing compared to this. It felt like his cells were trying to kill him. He could feel every one of them starting to change, die, replace themselves, every cell in his body was changing, he was changing! And it hurt! So. BAD!

--------------------------------------

Chase flew across the states, making his way to the coordinates that he had seen on the map, he just hoped that he wasn’t too late.

There!

Chase saw the hospital, immediately he was inside, and of course he knew that Tech wouldn’t let such a valuable “asset” be experimented on in any normal room, so it didn’t take him long to find the entrance to a stairway leading underground.

“Please tell me I’m not too late!” he begged, though no one was there

He burst into the room at full speed, but he only stood helpless at what was in front of him, five militants lay strewn throughout the room, one inside the wall, and it was obvious by the blood, that they were not just unconscious, and in the middle of it all, levitated a fifteen or so boy, no longer screaming, but still in pain.

He could hear the dark thing, it was laughing, it was actually laughing! Laughing at Chase’s failure.

“Tech, what did you do?” Chase breathed,

“Please…” The boy pleaded as he stared at the celling, his voice barely a whisper “Help me”

“Help Me”
