Hong Kong 8:07 AM

30 minutes later Chase, now in normal clothes, sat in a hotel room in Hong Kong, thinking, thinking as he stared at his mask. He was exhausted from all the running he had done.

"So, what are you going to do?"

Chase's looked surprised

"Shadow?" Chase said turning his head to look at him

Then he dropped it in realization "Man, I haven't seen you in a long time”

"Spill it." Shadow replied dryly

"Well for starters. I barely know what's right or wrong anymore.” Chase sighed, getting up and pacing the room “I mean what dad said made sense, the ends do justify the means."

"Just as how the ends would have justified your means of interrogating Hyper-Freeze." Shadow pointed out

"Right, exactly. And it’s not like that guy didn't deserve it." Chase said "I know my dad wouldn't do those things unless absolutely necessary...So he must have a good reason."

"But.....?" Shadow pried

"Aarrgh! But he KILLED SOMEONE!!" Chase yelled, punching a hole through the wall. "He killed him in cold blood! In all our efforts for peace, he's been building powerful war robots! He lied to me, and messed with my head, wiped my memories, just to cover his tracks!!!"

"And if he's lied and manipulated you before..." Shadow started, taking a seat

"Who's to say that, that's not what he's doing now." Chase said, finishing Shadow's thought, as he collapsed back onto the bed.

For a moment they both just sat there in silence, each considering the others words.

"Well," Shadow said, breaking the silence. "At the risk of irony. Remember the advice that Tech gave you a while ago."

“Oh, yeah, what’s that?” Chase asked,

"Don't trust someone off of what they tell you; trust them off of what you know."

Chase sat up and stared at the USB stick on the nightstand, it held his “Ripper Code”, as he called it.

It had taken him one and a half weeks to finish it, but for now, it just sat there.

"I think it’s time we start getting our own answers." Shadow ended

There was a pause as Chase considered it.

Then, with a giant gust of wind, Chase grabbed the USB, and the hotel room was empty.
