Kennedy City 12:17 PM
Chase sat, atop the Tech Industries Building in Kennedy City, furiously typing away at his computer. Surrounding him where three other laptops, and a lot of other technical things, all connected to his “backpack”. He was vigorously trying to hack into the satellites, while at the same time having a program that he had made search the entire internet in search of Tech.
“It’s no use, we’ve already tried this” Shadow stated for the hundredth time as he stared over the city.
“Well I can’t just sit back and do nothing!” Chase replied frustrated as the satellites rejected his thirty second Trojan code. Each time he had tried the code, it was always rejected, and so each time he would lessen and lessen the code to make it more inconspicuous, until it was basically just the extreme base of the code, and it still wouldn’t let accept it!
“Ugh!” Chase grumbled as he stood up to join Shadow “I give up”
“And the scans for Tech still aren’t giving us anything” Shadow added
“Maybe trying to find Tech isn’t the way to approach this…” Chase thought.
“Well I think our safest bet would be to try and find Darla, no doubt she knows something” Shadow pointed out
“Don’t you think I’ve tried that?” Chase snapped “But no one’s seen her in a while, and I can’t find her.
“Well she is running the company so someone has to know something!” Shadow shot back
“Not that I can find! One day before all of this, she took some vacation time, and no one has seen her since. Apparently she likes to keep that aspect of her life secret”
“We-“ Shadow started
BEEP! BEEP! Chase’s backpack started to beep
Instantly Chase was at the computer, it was the program he had set up to find Tech/ monitor all information relating to Tech. Industries.
Chase stared dumbfounded at the screen.
“What is it?” Shadow asked seeing the look on Chase’s face. Shocked he looked up at him, then turned the computer to face him.
“Darla’s scheduled a surprise Press conference in Times Square, in two hours.” He stated still shocked by this turn of events. “Apparently, Tech Industries had some big special announcement in regards to the horrible tragedy of the, well you know.”
“Well that’s a big coincidence”
“Yeah” Chase said suspiciously “And you never trust a coincidence”
