Arkansas 6:19 PM
Chase was broken from his thoughts by some very loud beeping
He very narrowly avoided crashing into a very surprised car as he flew down the darkening highway at around 250 MPH,
“AAGH!!” The kid in his arm continued to yell, Chase was pretty sure he was closing his eyes, this was getting harder and harder, he had to find somewhere to stop now. By this point, they were already out of the city, as evident by the forest and trees that blurred past.
300 MPH
Chase “pushed” his speed, trying to go as fast as he could without losing balance or killing his “passenger”. But something was becoming very evident, he was tiring, and he needed to stop now!
At the very next small town, Chase slowed down as fast as he could, still considering the factors from earlier, nearly falling a couple of times but eventually stopping just as they came to the main bridge of the town, and jumped down into the grass.
As soon as they stopped moving the kid shoved his way out of Chase’s arm, and collapsed to the ground.
Thirty minutes… That’s how long they laid there, neither said a word, they both just lay collapsed and exhausted in the grass panting as hard as they could, and they didn’t move till the fifth person to ask them if they were ok called the ambulance.
With the annoying sirens of 911 blaring in the background they slowly sat up and looked at each other, and Chase suddenly noticed that there were tears in the beaten face that looked back at him.
“Hey…” Chase breathed holding out his hand “I’m Slash”
The kid looked at it for a second, the tears starting to fall now, then stuck his own out. “Max…” he said with a somber and broken voice “My name is Max… And I think I just killed a lot of people.”
