The room was a sad sight.

Max sat on the couch, staring at the phone in his hands. Next to him, sat Nicholas, or Nick for short.

Nikki was in her room, crying to herself, and Luke sat against the wall, supporting his head with his hands

The house they were in now was a safe house, his dad had made, just in case something really bad were to ever happen. It had three rooms, each with their own bathroom and T.V. In addition to a living room, it also had a kitchen.

“Are you OK?” Luke asked when he saw her 

“I don’t know whether my mom is dead or alive, and I wasn’t there to help her,” She said, keeping her emotions in “So no”

“We'll find her,” Luke said “Right?”

He turned to Max, and Max looked up from the phone in his hands

“Why are you all looking at me?” He asked

“You seem to be the only one of us that has any idea of what’s he’s doing, or what’s going on,” Nick said bitterly

Max looked to the room where he had put Chase’s… Body

Man it felt weird to think about that

“Well, I don’t…” Max said “The only one who knows any of that, is in there”

He gestured to the room

“And he’s dead” Nikki commented angrily

“Hopefully not for long” Max mumbled, as he gently lifted up his hand, lessening the gravity by just a bit inside the room where Chase was… or where he was supposed to be

Wait, what?

He could feel a lot of liquid, and the bed, but Chase wasn’t inside

Max clenched his hand into a fist if he wasn’t there…

“I’ll be back,” He said stuffing his phone in his pocket as he stood up,
