Dallas 7:45 PM
It was getting dark now, much darker than before and Max was starting to get nervous.
The address that he had (Some old warehouse) turned out to be a dead end, though he was able to find out that there was a group that met there every once and a while until they moved, but the manager did know the new address. That had led him to a very questionable bar (Somewhere he did not want to go at all) where he met an interesting man, the owner. He had given Max a pamphlet for some yoga class meditation place, so that was where he was headed now.
He couldn’t help but feel that he had lost all chance of anything happening an hour ago, right now he was probably on some wild goose chase.
“It’s Ok Max, It’s Ok,” He thought out loud trying to calm his nerves, but it was proving ineffective
So he just kept walking
“Excuse me?” A voice asked taking Max away from his thoughts, he turned his head up to look at the person, it was some woman “Are you ok? Are you lost?”
“No I’m fine, thank you,” Max said quickly as he walked past her, admittedly the side of town that he was in wasn’t the safest.
Worriedly he looked at the street lamps, they probably should’ve come on by now, because it was getting darker by the second.
For a minute he wondered if he should try and…Fly
“Maybe I could do it?” He thought, he was pretty sure that it was possible, heck he was pretty sure he had already done it, kinda, plus it was getting dark so maybe he could do it without getting seen.
But he dismissed the idea, mostly because he didn’t trust that he could do it without killing himself
Suddenly he looked up, he was walking past another strip center, very run down looking, but it had the place he was looking for. Right in the middle.
“Oh you got to be kidding me” he growled, it reeked of cigarette smoke and the place looked like the only people to go here were very drunk men, or gang members, a thought further enforced by the two guys he saw smoking on the far right side of the building, by the dumpster. And he almost walked away, but he had to at least try.
So with a sigh, he walked through the empty parking lot of the strip center, and straight toward the door of the yoga/meditation place.
With a shaking hand, he gave four knocks and waited…
…
Nothing, “well I gues-“ are those guys getting closer?
Oh CRAP!
Sure enough, those guys had started to move closer, and Max immediately started to panic
BANG BANG BANG!!!!
He slammed on that door as hard as he possibly could over and over again
BANG BANG BANG!!!!
They moved closer, laughing
BANG BANG BANG!!!!
Nothing, and they were about to reach him!
Max spun around and aimed his hands at the men
“Stay the heck away! You have no idea what I’m capable of!” He yelled in a straight up bluff
The two men stopped, and looked at Max, then at each other, then back at Max
“Kid,” The one to the left said “We could say the same thing to you”
And it happened to be at that moment that Max realized the whitish glow coming from the man’s hands, as electricity crackled in between his fingers.
Max looked back up to the man’s face, relief flooding his own
“Oh thank goodness”
